Two years ago, we didn’t start out to build a “pet tech company.” We were just trying to solve an operations problem through tech.
Hi, I’m Anil, father of two lovely pups, Lorem & Ipsum & the Founder at Happy Pet. I entered this lovely industry through a small investment in a friend’s pet store chain in Bangalore. As a design & tech founder, it quickly became very clear to me that no software was built for how pet businesses actually run in the Indian Pet Market. The tools present internationally were either too expensive or not available for India.
Pet grooming, boarding, retail, vet services, everything was scattered. Different tools were used to manage a single business, too many manual processes and no central system.
At first, we thought this was just our problem, but the more we spoke to other business owners, the more we realised this wasn’t an exception. This was the sad state of the industry.
Most tools today are built for Western markets, which are expensive, complex, and not suited for how businesses operate in growing countries like India, Thailand, or the Philippines. On the other hand, local tools lack depth, usability, and scalability.
So pet businesses were stuck in the middle:
That’s the gap we decided to solve.

We started by building something simple in late 2024, a single platform to manage everything. Grooming, Boarding, Vet workflows, Retail. From managing appointments, staff, customers, to billing and invoicing, all in one place.
But more importantly, we built it to be easy to use for the staff, affordable for the management & scalable across locations for founders.
After the success locally, I packed my bags and headed out to all the neighbouring countries to pitch the tool and everywhere I walked into, I was treated like a magician solving all their problems. That’s when things changed for us when we realised this isn’t just an India problem. This is a problem across every growing market.
Today, pet businesses in Nepal, Philippines, Dubai, Thailand, the Netherlands, and more are using Happy Pet Tech, organically.
Not because we pushed it, but because the product simply works. Our competitors in the Indian/ South-Asian market currently are building for individual verticals, which doesn’t quite work effectively because pet businesses are slowly moving into multi-service setups. India is still a tech-learning country and will take time to mature in terms of usage. Adaptation of the tool in middle-east and SEA has been impressive. We’re glad to be the leading standing tech provider in all these markets.
We didn’t build this for one country. We built this for how pet businesses operate globally.
And most importantly, built with real-world operations, not theory.

From day one, our goal was simple, which was to build a product in India that can scale globally.
Today, we’re proud to see:
We’re also building for pet parents, with our Pet Parent app already seeing 7,500+ organic downloads.
We’re not here to just build software. We’re here to build the infrastructure for the pet care industry, connecting businesses, pet parents, and services into one ecosystem.
And while many tools are built for a market, we’re building for how the world operates. We’re early to the game, but with the support of people who believe in this vision, including leaders like Dr. Devi Shetty, we’re continuing to build, improve, and expand.
The goal is simple: Make it easier for pet businesses anywhere in the world to scale.
