For a small dog in Metro Manila, a bath and blow-dry costs ₱350 to ₱850, and a full groom with a haircut costs ₱590 to ₱1,800. The middle price is ₱900. That's based on the published rate cards of 7 salons, checked in November 2026. Prices go up with your dog's size, coat condition and add-ons such as dematting.
This guide is for two groups. Pet parents can use it to check what's normal before booking. Groomers can use it to compare their own price list. If you run a grooming business in the Philippines, this is a useful benchmark.

What do the services mean?
- Bath and dry: a bath, shampoo and blow-dry. No haircut.
- Basic groom: a bath plus hygiene care. That means nails, ears, and a trim around the paws and private area. No full haircut.
- Full groom: everything above, plus a haircut or body cut.
Lines with 3 or 4 salons are a small sample. So treat those numbers as a rough guide.
Prices by Dog Size

Almost every salon prices by size. But "small" doesn't mean the same thing everywhere.
Here is how the salons that publish weights define small:
- One salon: 4 kg and below
- Another: up to 10 kg
- A third starts its "medium" band at just 7 kg
So the same dog can be "small" at one salon and "medium" at the next. Most salons in our sample don't publish weights at all.
Tip for pet parents: Weigh your dog before you book. Then ask the salon which size band that weight falls into.
Size also changes the price a lot. A full groom for an XL dog costs about twice as much as one for a small dog. That's because bigger dogs take longer to bathe, dry and cut.
Add-Ons and Surcharges

Most salons sell extras on top of their packages. Here is what the sampled salons charge.
- Nail trim: ₱70 to ₱100 (3 salons)
- Ear cleaning: ₱100 to ₱120 (2 salons)
- Toothbrushing: ₱50 to ₱170 (4 salons)
- Medicated or sensitive-skin bath: ₱50 to ₱300 extra (3 salons)
- Special or styled cut: ₱250 (1 salon)
- Tick and flea treatment application: ₱50 (1 salon)
- Dematting on its own: ₱245 (1 salon)
Some packages already include these. For example, one salon's haircut package includes light dematting. So check what's in the package before you add extras.
Home-service groomers may also charge a trip fee. One Metro Manila mobile groomer charges ₱50 to ₱150 per trip, depending on the city.
For Groomers: How to Build Your Price List

The data above shows one clear problem. Salons define sizes differently, and many don't publish weights. That confuses pet parents. It can also lead to arguments at pickup.
A clear price list fixes this. Here's how to build one. If you're still setting up, start with our guide to BAI registration for grooming salons.
Price by Size Band and Coat Condition
Set your bands by weight, not by "small" or "large." Write the limits clearly, for example "up to 8 kg." Then set a base price for each band.
Coat condition matters too. A matted coat takes much longer to groom. So add a clear dematting charge, or a range like "mild" and "heavy." Then pet parents know before they arrive.
Publish Your Rates
Post your full price list on your website and Facebook page. Many groomers only share prices over Messenger. That slows bookings, because every pet parent has to ask first. For help designing your tiers, read our guide to the psychology of pricing your pet care services.
Track Time per Groom to Check Your Margins
Your price should cover your time. One salon in our sample lists 1 hour for a small-dog bath. It lists 2 hours for a large-dog haircut. Your times may be different, so measure them.
For a few weeks, note how long each groom takes. Then divide your price by the hours. If a service earns much less per hour than the rest, raise its price.
Good records make this easier. Happy Pet Tech keeps each pet's service history, your staff schedules and your billing in one place. So you can see which services each pet had and who groomed them. See how Happy Pet Tech handles grooming bookings.
Your price list checklist:
- Size bands with clear weight limits
- A base price for each service
- An add-on list with prices
- Surcharge rules for matting and difficult behaviour
- The date your price list was last updated
FAQ
How much does dog grooming cost in Metro Manila?
A full groom for a small dog costs ₱590 to ₱1,800 in Metro Manila, with a median of ₱900. A bath and blow-dry costs ₱350 to ₱850. Larger dogs cost more. A full groom for an XL dog ranges from ₱899 to ₱2,480. These figures come from 7 salons' published rates, checked in November 2026.
How much is Shih Tzu grooming in Metro Manila?
Most salons price by size, not breed. An adult Shih Tzu usually weighs 4 to 7 kg. So it falls in the small or medium band, depending on the salon. A full groom for those sizes costs ₱590 to ₱2,000 in our sample. Ask the salon which band your dog's weight falls into.
What is included in a full groom?
In our sample, a full groom always includes a bath, blow-dry and haircut. Most also include nail trimming and ear cleaning. Some add toothbrushing, paw pad trimming, a sanitary trim or cologne. Inclusions vary a lot between salons. So check the list before you compare prices.
Why do groomers charge extra for matted coats?
Matted fur takes much longer to brush out safely. It also needs more care, because pulling mats can hurt your dog. So groomers charge for the extra time. In our sample, one salon charges ₱245 for dematting on its own. Another includes light dematting in its haircut package.
Conclusion
Most Metro Manila salons charge ₱590 to ₱1,800 for a small-dog full groom. Size, coat condition and add-ons push the price up. Pet parents should weigh their dog and check what each package includes. Groomers should publish clear weight bands and a dated price list.
