Handling & label

Handling tags

They print as bold boxes so they stand out at the sorting hub.

Label size

Standard thermal label. Works with most label printers.

Barcodes are Code 128, read by every courier hub scanner.
Check your courier's own label rules, and test-scan a printed label before a big dispatch.

What goes on a
shipping label

A shipping label tells the courier where a parcel goes, who sent it, and how to handle it. Hubs scan the barcode, delivery staff read the address and postcode, and the customer sees your brand when the box arrives.

AWB barcode

The airway bill or tracking number your courier gives you when you book a pickup. Every scan at a hub updates the tracking.

Postcode

Printed large because sorting runs on it: the PIN code in India, the postcode or ZIP code elsewhere. A wrong one is the most common reason a parcel gets misrouted.

COD amount

Printed in a black block so the delivery agent collects the right amount. Prepaid parcels say so just as clearly.

Weight and size

Couriers bill on the higher of actual and volumetric weight (L × W × H ÷ divisor). The label shows both.

Handling tags

Fragile, Keep upright, Perishable. Bold boxes that sorting staff notice at a glance.

Return address

Where an undelivered parcel comes back to, usually your store, with your phone and tax ID such as GSTIN, TRN or ABN.

How to make
a shipping label

  1. 1

    Add your store once

Country, name, address, phone and logo. Tick Remember and they are filled in next time.

  2. 2

    Fill in the customer

Name, address, phone and postcode, or upload an Excel or CSV file with many orders. The tool flags a postcode or phone that looks wrong.

  3. 3

    Add the shipment

Paste the AWB from your courier, set prepaid or COD, and enter weight and box size.

  4. 4

    Print it

Pick tags and a label size, then print on your thermal printer or save as PDF. Print at 100% scale.

Sticking it on: use the largest flat side of the box, keep the barcode flat and away from edges and seams, and tape only the label's edges.
